Function to display all images of a category together with its sub-categories

Problem: In Commons there are many categories with sub-categories; I would like to see all images of a certain category together with the ones of its sub-categories and sub-sub-categories and so on (at least to a certain level).
Who would benefit: Anyone who looks for an image which is hidden in a sub- or sub-sub-category.
Proposed solution: Provide such a missing option (in principle similar as it is provided for coordinates by WikiMap in the German Wikipedia)

There are several gadget to do intersections and combinations of categories. Maybe the task should be adapted to integrate in the default mediawiki approach for all wikis? I'm afraid many users just don't know them.--FAR (talk) 10:59, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
