Pageviews also in all languages
Out of scope / does not require engineers
- Problem: Only all English articles have a Pageviews link. Make a Pageviews link available for all pages in all languages.
- Who would benefit: Everyone in all languages can then see the 'popularity' of any article.
- Proposed solution: Technically Pageviews already works in all languages. The statistics in all languages are already collected and are available. Only the Pageview link has to be shown on all pages. It seems fairly easy to program.
- More comments: For example this English page has a pageviews link under View history. But like the corresponing Nederlands/nl, Español/es, Català/ca and Deutsch/de do not have a Pageviews link. By simply changing en.wikipedia to nl.wikipedia in this hyperlink it simply works in any language like Català/ca, Deutsch/de, Nederlands/nl and Español/es.

The link is in fact added through modification of local wikis’ MediaWiki:Histlegend. You may ask interface admins on each Wikipedia to add the link in it. H78c67c (talk) 15:46, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for your comment H78c67c. I asked the Dutch interface administrators just now. But I think it could/should also be a central coördinated effort to improve all Wikipedia languages with this feature. --FlippyFlink (talk) 16:16, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

- As noted above, any wiki can add links to their interface, but that decision is up to them. MediaWiki:Histlegend is the most popular place, there's also MediaWiki:Pageinfo-footer and German Wikipedia even uses MediaWiki:Wikimedia-copyright.
