MONUSCO Force Commander Lieutenant General Otávio Rodrigues De Miranda Filho, was joined by Goma HoO Laila Bourhil and Military Governor of North Kivu, Lieutenant General Constant Ndima Kongba. The day is an opportunity to recognize the service and sacrifice of the more than one million personnel who have served under the blue flag since 1948. It is also a chance to honour the memory of the more than 4,000 peacekeepers who lost their lives in the cause of peace.
