Description
English: :15:00 - Saw a goshawk fly over, heading south.
15:15 - Heard a goshawk alarm call, probably reacting to the gardeners driving by. Found droppings underneath old goshawk nest.
15:30 - Found pellet (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/9575760), looks like pigeon remains.
16:00 (recording) - Waited near the goshawk's usual perching place (Tilia cordata). Male and female goshawks flew in. Female carrying prey. The female perched on a higher branch. The male beneath, hopping on a branch. It's rare to see male and female that close together, the size dimorphism is striking. The did not pay attention to me. Female flew away carrying prey, male followed. Chattering and single note calls as they flew in, while on the branch and as they flew off.
Recorded with a directional microphone from 40m distance. 300 Hz low-cut filter. Normalized at -3dB. Urban setting, cemetery, street and work noises. Location obscured, due to poisoning incident in 2016.
