A pair of very large and beautiful ceramic incense burners, one of which is shown here, flank the path to the Hall of Heavenly Favors in Changling. The burners imitate wooden pavilions (notice, for example, the molded brackets just below the roof) but are colored in the best yellow, imperial Ming style.
