Summary

Description
English: The Fuglefjellet at Isfjord is a steep and inaccessible cliff of about 400m height just west of Longyearbyen. Erosion formed numerous vertical crevices leaving the impression of temple columns as seen both in Isfjorden and in Tempelfjord. Fuglefjellet owes its name to numerous bird colonies. The bird faeces are a fruitful ground for moss, lichens and grass that grow on the less steep parts of the cliff.
