English: Shown in a market area of Manchester known as "Smithy Door." Throngs of shoppers and hawkers mill about food stands. The surrounding buildings are primarily of half-timber construction. At the left is a store displaying dishes in its window and next to it is a shop identified as: CRASTON SHOE MAKER. Seen in the background is the early 15th-century tower of the collegiate church of Manchester, which was elevated to the rank of cathedral in 1847.
