Description
English: This evening scene showing a girl seated on a log watching children making mudpies was painted while Knaus was living in Dusseldorf, Germany. In the background, a swineherd tends his pigs. A preparatory sketch for the child in the center of composition was acquired by the museum in 1982 (Walters 37.2601).
