De helderblauwe lucht in contrast met diepblauwe kasseien. Legendarische kasseien, zo onschuldig en tegelijk zo onthullend. Jaar na jaar bereden, jaar na jaar drukbezocht. Een hindernis, een trots. Kinderkopjes vleien zich een na een, nemen je mee binnenin de Kapel. Al honderden jaren lang, vinden mensen hier hun steun, hun toeverlaat. Brandende kaarsen, biddende mensen, een serene sfeer. Eenzame bomen wiegen op de tonen van de wind, groene heuvels trotseren de vlakte. Ik koos als monument de Kapel op de Muur van Geraardsbergen. Mijn grootouders wonen in Geraardsbergen en vertellen me erg vaak over De Muur en zijn kapel. Mijn nieuwsgierigheid bracht me al enkele keren op de top tot bij de kapel. Keer op keer vond ik het bijzonder. Telkens opnieuw ontdek je nieuwe dingen, je raakt nooit uitgekeken. Net dit maakt het plaatje zo mooi. De foto werd niet bewerkt. De titel Grammoncieux, is een woordspeling van Grammont, Geraardsbergen in het Frans en gracieux, vanwege de uitstraling.Français : Le mur de Grammont English: the Wall of Geraardsbergen or Grammont, famous for being in the Tour of Flanders. This picture shows the famous Sett-stones, the monument shown is the chapel. A sports and a building monument combined. |
