This rectangular stele consists of a niche topped by an arch. Inside the deep niche a figure has been carved in high relief. This figure is of a child who is holding in one hand a headless bird, in the other hand a pistachio cluster. The child’s hair is depicted gathered on the right side of the head and braided. The child is wearing a chiton and sandals. Under the niche there is one line Greek inscription written in rounded characters. The inscription bears traces of red paint. It reads “Brut(jus) Koskonius untimely/very early, farewell. It can be dated to the second century A.D. the stele is made of limestone it was found in 1931 in Zeugma. After being displayed in the Adana Museum for many years it was returned to the land where it was found on 07-09-2016.
