I like variation (g). Variation (p) looks like a Starfleet emblem from Star Trek. —Pacific1982

"Variation"?! What "variation"? Most of these are completely distinct logos! I appreciate Ghostwiter's modesty for not submitting each of these under distinct id numbers, but I personally think he should do that, doing things this way might be confusing at voting time, and depending on the voting procedure the current setup might actually end up being a problem. Obviously just my 2c. --Gutza 00:58, 21 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Change "variation" to "submission." —Pacific1982

hy,

youre right, there could be a problem on the voting procedure but it was to much to post every one under a new number.

i also minimized the pics to 150px width to save place, other "artists" have'nt mentioned that.

maybe the admins could make a special voting page for each pic. More than a half of numbered posts contains two or more pics.

Personally I like type a) i) and k) very much - but Im interestet in how your (all of them) logos relate to wikipedia, except the word wikipedia? -- Sansculotte 00:06, 22 Aug 2003 (UTC)

How relate my logos to wikipedia? hmm i would say in the same way like microsoft logos to microsoft.
they present pictures of wikipedia in my mind. simple, straight and surprising pictures. The name Wikipedia is a very effective and clear name therefore works it also without special additives such as books. it requires only a small support by the correct dynamic character font and suitable colors.
of course, i could explain any screened picture but they show effect. a encyclopedia logo must not contain a book it could also been burned on CD or DVD or etched in on gold plates. I think encyclopedias like wikipedia are the new interactive and endless issue of old dusty reference books. Ghostwriter78 13:00, 22 Aug 2003 (UTC)

I like the abstract planet in (r) and (s), but not the word wikipedia. How about embed it in a bracket, like (2) and the sunflower example?

--Wshun

I dont like those brackets! They constrict the planet (wikipedia) in the usually endless space. Wikipedia is growing and any constriction is hard to imagine. wikipedia is the name of this online encyclopedia, and has the permission to decorate the planet. if you dont like the font i chosen, its possible to change. greets Ghostwriter78
It is not about the font, using english word is simply not "international" enough. Isn't it why we have the logo contest in the first place? But I guess we have no way out. :) Wshun
