During this quarter, most partnerships that CIS-A2K signed continued. Partnership with University of Mysore for digitizing and re-releasing first Six volumes of the Kannada Vishwakosha (encyclopaedia) resulted in about 1400 articles in Kannada Wikisource. Kannada Wikipedia community is actively populating articles in Kannada Wikipedia taking the input from these articles in Kannada Wikisource. An open knowledge day was celebrated at Mysore to commemorate this endeavour. Due to the efforts of CIS-A2K, Government of Karnataka re-released 105 books published by it under Creative Commons license during this period. Partnership with Christ University resulted in digitisation of many pages of the Mysore University encyclopaedia in Kannada Wikisource. It also created many new editors during this period. Nine outreach sessions were conducted during this period to instill growth in Kannada Wikipedia.
Key highlights[edit]
- Partnership with University of Mysore - The partnership with University of Mysore as the result of the MoU signed in Feb 2014, continued and yielded some fruitful results this quarter also. As per the MoU, CIS-A2K facilitated the extraction of legacy text from first six volumes of Kannada Vishwakosha (encyclopaedia) published by University of Mysore. These text were converted into Kannada Unicode, individual articles separated and uploaded into Kannada Wikisource. Kannada Wikisource grew substantially because of this. By end of September 2014, Kannada Wikisource had about 1600 articles. For comparison, the number of articles in Sep 2013 was 374. Kannada Wikipedia editor community is actively populating Kannada Wikipedia by taking the information for these articles and either creating new articles or enriching existing articles. An open knowledge day was celebrated at Mysore on July 15, 2014 to commemorate this endeavour. Prof K Rangappa, Vice Chancellor, University of Mysore chaired this function. This event was widely covered by media.
- Christ University Partnership - The partnership with Christ University continued this year also. UG students of first semester took up digitisation of Kannada text in Kannada Wikisource as part of their assignments for internal assessments. They took up the task of digitising the pages of Mysore University Kannada Encyclopaedia into Kannada Unicode text. Overall they added about 1.7MB of text data.
- Content donation by GoK - Department of Kannada & Culture, Government of Karnataka, re-released 105 Kannada books which included many classics under CC-BY-SA 3.0 on Aug 18, 2014. CIS-A2K put lot of efforts in convincing the department to achieve this milestone. These books include classics like complete Dasa Sahitya which include complete works of Purandaradasa, Kanakadasa, complete Vachana Sahitya, Kumaravyasa Bharata, Jaimini Bharata, etc. The list also includes many commentaries, essays, proceedings of workshops on these classics also. Most of these classics have been edited for correctness of the language and chandassu (prosody or meter). Most of them also have some explanations and commentaries for the verses. Some books from the list have been uploaded into Kannada Wikisource.
- Outreach programs - a total of 7 outreach programs conducted during this period. The programs were conducted at Mysore, Gulbarga, Bagalkot, Bangalore, and Tumkur. This list includes workshops, presentations and just speech. While the total number reached is about 850, number of people who participated in the workshop is 50.

Total editors[edit]
Total number of editors grew by 11 which is comparable with the growth in other quarters. There is no remarkable change in the growth.
New editors[edit]
The number of new editors was 5, 7 and 1 respectively for July, August and September. These are less compared to previous quarter as well to the same quarter last year.
Active editors[edit]
The number of active editors was 22, 33 and 20 respectively for July, August and September. These are comparable with the values of previous quarter for one month, better for one month and less for another month. But these are less compared to the same quarter last year.
Very active editors[edit]
The number of very active editors was 4, 5 and 4 respectively for July, August and September. These are better than the previous quarter if we consider the average value. But these are less compared to the same quarter last year.
No. of Articles[edit]
Total number of articles in Kannada Wikipedia grew from 17935 to 18121 in this quarter. The number of new articles per day was 2, 4 and 3 respectively for July, August and September.
Overall the statistics for this quarter for Kannada Wikipedia is not very attractive. These values have improved in the next quarter.
