Participation of Eduardofeld in Digitalia

About me

[edit]

I'm volunteer in free knowledge projects, I have academic titles in law and IT. In Wikipedia projects, I am sysop of the lusophone project and autopatrolled and rollbacker of anglophone one. I have already adopted various users and I intend to become un ambassador of the program "Wikipedia in university" to broadcast the advantages of being a volunteer to teachers and students in my state (RN) and I have already scheduled meetups with local teachers.

I have already eight thousands of editions in WM projects and 70+ well referenced articles. I've also received a gold participation in a wiki-contest with improving articles quality. Starting to coordinate the social sciences wikiproject.

I've already participated in Rio's and Recife's events and helped coordinating the Natal's one, without grant.

Goals and measures of success

[edit]

Project goal

[edit]

There will happen the Digitalia, an event about free Knowlodge in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. The staff of WMF will be present, with the help of volunteers of WP and MWMF. If I go to the event, I will help broadcasting wikiculture to participants and to conduct the workshops, thus giving special attention to potencial contributors.

It's very important for the staff to have the help of an experient editor, to report to the students and teachers the editors' basics, how to face the first barriers and the importance and enthusiasm of the editing experience, with leaving no doubts.

This is an event, that is already in the second version, where teachers and students, as well as intelectual properties researechers will debate free culture aspects. The former Culture minister has already confirmed his presence. The site of the event is this and the one of the WMF participation is this.

So it will be great if members of other free-culture movements, that will be there in a crowd, can keep in contact with experienced users of WP. The result will be, besides the creation of featured content, the improvement of what we have today. Our need of content and new editores is very strong and I can help that to happen.

Creating relationship and future "join ventures" with WP and other free culture movements is a seed that I can help putting there, contacting interested people.

Measures of success

[edit]

I will be successful if I manage to bring people to WMF projects. This measure can be made, for instance, with inscription of event's participants in "adopt a user" program, if I adopt several ones. I think it's necessary to increase the number of volunteers in pt-Wikipedia and the university program is one of the key ones, using the energy of young and engaged people. Perhaps I can bring and adopt 50 newbees with hard working. This will be better if some of them manage to write featured content. this is, nonetheless, a difficult goal. 20 active and good editors with my coordination will be a less optimistic one.

Project scope and activities

[edit]

The pt-community will increase in quantity of volunteers, under the "Wikipedia in University" program, as well as in quality and credibility
