Talk:Community health initiative/Allow users to restrict which user groups can edit their own user page, talk page and subpages thereof

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Quick comments[edit]

  1. This feature needs to prevent page moving as well. Page move vandalism is a thing.
  2. User pages need to be taggable for {{db-spam}} and the like. Extendedconfirmed in the maximum level of restriction I can support.
  3. This should apply to every page in user and user talk except for User talk:X. Communication through this route is non-optional. MER-C (talk) 07:52, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@MER-C: Good point about page move protection, I'll add it to the page. And I would agree with limiting the strength of the protection at extendedconfirmed. By the time a user reaches that level of experience they know what's acceptable to edit on user pages, and this type of preventative solution is really designed to protect against sock armies and newbies. — Trevor Bolliger, WMF Product Manager 🗨 17:25, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
