@Thomas Linard: File:PDF_icon_-_grey-red_-_16px.svg is CCA4I, requiring attribution; perhaps the generic File:Icon pdf file.png would be an improvement though, and it is CC0. — xaosflux Talk 02:02, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Xaosflux: of course, CC-BY-4.0 requires attribution, what is the problem? This does not necessarily imply a credit attribution on every page where the image is used, we use millions of images in CC-BY on wiki* sites, and the link to the image on Commons (when the credit are given notice) is sufficient (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Captions#Credits). 09:14, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
Oh, it's because the image is not clickable? In this case, we have public domain icons: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Icons-mini-file_pdf.svg or https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:PDF_icon.svg Thomas Linard (talk) 09:18, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Thomas Linard: I like the File:PDF icon.svg one better, feel free to update to it (avoids using that companies brandmark too). — xaosflux Talk 17:29, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
