User:Erwin/Image suggestions
For quite a number of articles with no images there is a relevant image available at Commons. You just have to find it. To help in doing that I've set up a collection of scripts to suggest images. These suggestions are based on images used at other Wikipedia's by checking the article's interlanguage links.
The suggestions are added to the article's talk page and contain a link to a gallery of the images.
Process[edit]
- Create a list of pages without any images.
- Create a list of linked articles at the top 20 largest Wikipedia's.
- Create a list of images used in those linked articles.
- Filter list of images by excluding images used in templates, flags, rating stars etc.
- Post suggestions to Wikipedia.
Dutch Wikipedia[edit]
The script has been used for the Dutch Wikipedia where over 15,000 suggestions were made. In about a month approx. 4,000 of them have been closed and one or more images have been added to over 2,000 articles.[1][2]
