Neelix[edit]

Neelix was a very prolific contributor to the Wikipedia. He was also a Wikipedia administrator.

In 2015 it was found that he had made a large number or redirects, related to human breasts, that, when found by outside commentators, embarrassed other wikipedia contributors.

Neelix was the target of wide, possibly very disproportionate, pile-on. He quietly resigned. But he remains the target of unpleasant comments, both on and off wiki.

He was, eventually blocked, following claims he had resorted to sockpuppetry.

Did Neelix really resort to sockpuppetry...[edit]

I looked at en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Neelix/Archive. I looked at the brief histories of Micericky and Wiki2008time.

Maxim moved en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Wiki2008time to en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Neelix on 2021-06-18 13:34. Honestly? I don't see the behavioural connection other contributors assert exists.

This is the last substantive edit to the Wiki2008time SPI, prior to Maxim's renaming. Neelix is not even mentioned. I checked Maxim's edits from 2021-06-18 to 2021-06-22, to see if he explained his or her suspicions, anywhere else. Nada.

Maxim did replace {{sock|Wiki2008time|confirmed}} with {{sock|Neelix|confirmed}}, on User:Aelixia, User:Alixxia, User:Allixia, User:Allixxia, User:Axiana, User:Axxiana, User:Axxianna, User:HaIIaxis, User:Hallaxis, User:Liinxuri, User:Linxuri, User:Linxxuri, User:Micericky, User:TaIlax, User:Tallax, User:Tallaxx, User:Terabalia, User:Trabalia, User:Traballia, User:Wiki2008time

  1. I checked Neelix's edit summaries over the previous year, and in those tens of thousands of edits he never once used the edit summary "more concise".
  2. Linxuri used the edit summary "Creating redirect to disambiguation". As in these examples[11] [12] [13] [14], [15], [16], Neelix always used something like "Redirected page to Yellow-legged frog", where the edit summary explicitly links to the disambiguation page.
  3. Linxuri's edit summary was "Added image of Ron Wear to infobox". That is inconsistent with Neelix's style, as in these examples: [17], [18], [19], [20], [21]. [22], [23], [24], [25], [26], [27], [28], where he used "Added image".
    • Note also Linxuri's caption included a call to the {{url}} template, to include the URL where the photo was found, in the caption. Neelix never did this.
