About me

Hi! My name is Isabel Zapico and I am from Asturias, a region in the north of Spain. I am currently based in Madrid, where I have lived since 2000.

I became a Wikipedia editor in June 2019 thanks to an edit-a-thon of STEM women organised by Patricia Horrillo from Wikiesfera. Since then, I’ve been contributing to the Spanish Wikipedia and Wikidata, focusing on the gender gap and minority groups. You can learn more about me at my volunteer userpage, Zapipedia.

I also belong to the core team of the Wikiesfera UG, accompanying newcomers in their first steps in the Wikimedia projects and coordinating some activities and edit-a-thons.

My work

I have been in the Wikimedia Foundation since the end of November 2021, where I collaborate with the Growth and Web teams as a Product Ambassador for the Spanish Wikipedia.
