#wikimedia-admin Invex

I don't think I've ever added a temp admin as I have never audited the list, and I don't really have the intention of doing so. That said, I've had half a mind to propose shutting the channel down due to it's almost if not zero use by anyone. -- Amanda (she/her) 18:05, 13 June 2026 (UTC)

@ZI Jony: As a rule I don't tend to reply by email unless a situation warrants it.

1. Regarding IRC policies: Everything we have is at IRC, even if it's slightly outdated.
2. You say that ops in #wikimedia-ops is required. How so, I don't understand how that will help you with the new channel. Also I would need you to list what channels you currently have ops in that are significant enough to warrant this.
3. admin has been granted, though I can't invex you at this time since I don't know your cloak, and it's not on your userpage.

Hi @AmandaNP, thank you for the clarification. To ensure we have everything aligned, here are the details you requested:

1. My IRC Cloak is: @wikimedia/ZI-Jony. I apologize for the oversight, it was included in my email signature also.

2. Current Channels with Ops: For context, I am currently the founder or primary operator for the following project rooms:

• #wikipedia-abstract (Founder)
• #wikimedia-lounge (Founder)
• #wikidata-revdel (Operator)
• #wikidata-admin (Operator)

3. Justification for #wikimedia-ops: The primary reason I am requesting access/ops in #wikimedia-ops is to manage the IRC infrastructure for these channels. Without being recognized there, I am locked out of the administrative backend at https://wmopbot.toolforge.org/. I would also request you to arrange to add/join wmopbot at #wikimedia-lounge.
