The Wiki Women Collective (WWC) is a forthcoming steering committee to address and prioritize global initiatives focused on closing the gender gap in Wikimedia projects. This project emerges as an outcome of discussions held during the Wiki Women Camp, with the objective of creating a strategic and collaborative platform.

Objectives

Declaration Implementation: Transform the Wiki Women Camp Declaration into actionable steps and initiatives.
Global Priorities: Identify and prioritize global initiatives to address the gender gap within the Wikimedia movement.
Steering Committee (WikiWomen Collective) Formation: Establish a diverse and representative steering committee to guide the Wiki Women Collective.
Community Engagement: Engage global communities to contribute to the Wiki Women Collective's declaration and nominate representatives for the steering committee.

Importance of the Steering Committee

The steering committee will play a crucial role in providing direction, oversight, and leadership to the Wiki Women Collective. Implementation Plan

July 31st: Launch the nomination process for the steering committee.
August 2024 Steering committee nominations
August 2024 Discussions during Wiki Women Summit, declaration review and public announcement.
1 September 2024 Sharing the Wiki Women Collective team
1 August- 30 September 2024 global consultations on WikiWomen Declaration.
1 October Sharing the Global Declaration
1 November 2024 Sharing the Engagement/Support plan for Wiki Women
