Project scope

[edit]

Ukrainian Wikipedians have already developed and translated the draft Bylaws into English. Now we are planning to register the organization as a legal entity, organize press conferences, and begin contacting different public and private bodies with the aim of cooperation in developing Ukrainian Wiki-projects.

Project goal

[edit]

The Wikimedia Ukraine will be registered, the bank accounts will be opened, the information of the Wiki Projects will be published in some major Ukrainian newspapaers and magazines. The contacts with responsible people within public and private bodies will be established. The leaflets about Wikimedia Ukraine will be published and distributed.

Non-financial requirements

[edit]

Probably approving the leaflets design.

Fit to strategy

[edit]

The Ukrainian wikipedians will have their strong voice in Ukrainian society and this voice will be heard. Much more people will be involved in developing of the Wiki Projects. The Ukrainian business will support our financial sustainability.

Other benefits

[edit]

We believe we can get a very positive media attention for all Wiki projects in Ukraine, which may also persuade the content owners to free up their material.

Measures of success

[edit]

We will consider this project a success if the Wikimedia Ukraine will be financially sustainable for the year 2010 and at least one of the state bodies will provide its information for the digitization and placing in Wiki under a free license. Till the end of 2009, the 20.000 leaflets will be published and distributed at about 8 public events in Ukraine with total potential impact on at least 40.000 people.
