October 2018[edit]

As of October 15th, 34 Wikimedia Chapters and one Thematic Organization (89%) were up-to-date with their required reporting, and 83 of the 100 reporting eligible User Groups (83%) were up-to-date with required reporting.

User Group Applications[edit]

The Affiliations Committee works with new groups seeking recognition as a Wikimedia User Group. The past quarter saw growth of new User Groups with 5 new applications and 6 new user groups created. There were 18 applications in progress and/or under review from groups at the time of this quarterly reporting.

Chapter & Thematic Organization Applications[edit]

The Affiliations Committee also works with user groups to review their bylaws and application materials for the purpose of seeking recognition as a chapter or thematic organization. The committee does this in order to assist more developed user groups to communicating how they meet the current guidelines for chapters recognition and to determine its recommendation to the board with regard to recognition.  

There were 7 user groups with applications in various stages of the process and 1 other group who had made inquiry expressing interest at the time of this quarterly reporting.

Affiliate Conflict Intervention[edit]

In addition to applications pipelines, the committee has also been attending to 5 affiliate conflict situations.

July 2018[edit]

As of July 15th, 25 Wikimedia Chapters and one Thematic Organization (63%) were up-to-date with their required reporting, and 77 of the 97 User Groups (79%) were up-to-date with required reporting.

User Group Applications[edit]

The Affiliations Committee works with new groups seeking recognition as a Wikimedia User Group. The past quarter saw further growth of new User Groups with 5 new applications and 11 new user groups created. There were 12 applications in progress and/or under review from groups at the time of this quarterly reporting.

The Affiliations Committee also works with user groups to review their bylaws and application materials for the purpose of seeking recognition as a chapter or thematic organization. The committee does this in order to assist more developed user groups to communicating how they meet the current guidelines for chapters recognition and to determine its recommendation to the board with regard to recognition.  

There were 3 user groups with applications in various stages of the process and 3 other groups who had made inquiry expressing interest at the time of this quarterly reporting.

Affiliate Conflict Intervention[edit]

In addition to applications pipelines, the committee has also been attending to 2 open affiliate conflict situations and resolves 5 cases.

April 2018[edit]

As of April 15th, all 37 Wikimedia Chapters and one Thematic Organization (100%) were up-to-date with their required reporting, and 70 of the 87 User Groups (81%) were up-to-date with required reporting.

The Affiliations Committee works with new groups seeking recognition as a Wikimedia User Group. The past quarter saw an increase in the frequency of new User Group applications (8 new  applications compared to 3 last quarter), and five new user groups were created. There were 20 applications in progress and/or under review from groups at the time of this quarterly reporting.

As of January 31st, all 37 Wikimedia Chapters and 1 Thematic Organization (100%) were up-to-date with their required reporting and 73 of the 83 User Groups (88%) were up-to-date with required reporting.
