Talk:Translation requests/WMF/Fundraising/es:

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Needs wikify and the templates. I really don't know how to translate "disclaimer". Since I can't even see the source I didn't bother about the HTML. Joseph | Talk 17:13, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC)

The source is available at Wikimedia Fundraising pages/en. If you need the source of individual templates, please let me know which ones. Angela 18:41, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Where should this go on the Foundation wiki? Is Wikimedia:Donaciones the correct title? Angela 01:28, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Wikimedia:Donaciones is OK. Joseph | Talk 07:57, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Misplaced[edit]

I think this page should move to Translation requests/WMF/Fundraising/Es: dont you ? --Suisui 04:20, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I don't know. I asked the same at Talk:Wikimedia Fundraising pages/en. Angela 05:04, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Incorrect corrections of corrections!![edit]

All right. There are a few things that need to be cleared up.

  1. acceso, NOT accesso.
  2. In Spanish, the present progressive ("estamos haciendo") is used much less frequently than the simple indicative ("hacemos").
  3. "A cualquier persona del mundo" would be better phrased as "a todo el mundo", if the mission of Wikimedia is to provide free information to everyone (not just anyone.)
  4. [1] has agreed that the name of the dictionary project is Wikcionario, not Wikccionario.
  5. There is an important distinction between solo and sólo. The former is an adjective meaning "alone", and the latter is an adverb meaning "only". Do you want to say "under one condition alone" or "under only one condition"? If you want to say "under one condition alone", that would be "bajo una sola condición". If you want to say "under only one condition", that would be "bajo sólo una condición".

Yeah, I forgot #1 and #5 when doing the merge, they are grammar corrections, I was doing contextual corrections. The problem with #2 is that with "hacemos" we would be saying something like what we are dedicated to, while with "estamos haciendo" is more like saying what you are doing right now, in this precise moment. About #5, "a todo el mundo" is not used in formal situations, leave "a cualquier persona del mundo" as it is. Finally, #4, yeah gonna change that asap. Joseph | Talk 01:14, Oct 1, 2004 (UTC)
