Talk:Wikimedia Canada/Meetings/2008-01-23

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Hi, all! I really like the list of goals for WMC, but I had a couple that I'd like to see added:

  • Create material (flyers, Powerpoint slidesets, etc.) for WMC members to use to promote Wikimedia projects. Some stock materials to make it easy to make presentations at clubs, schools, companies, etc. would be really great. Covering both official languages would be really great.
  • Support the development of Wikimedia projects in Canadian languages. Not only English and French, but also aboriginal languages like Inuktitut, Cree, and others. Some already exist, some don't yet.
  • Support the coverage of Canadian subjects in all Wikimedia projects. Example: Canadian news in Wikinews, Canadian topics in Wikipedia, Canadian vocabulary and usage in Wiktionary, Canadian works and important documents in Wikisource.

I hope that as an organization we can advocate for Canada to Wikimedia, and for Wikimedia to Canada. --Evan 17:08, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Those are great ideas. If you cannot attend to the official meeting (which is on next wednesday), I can raise these points for you. OhanaUnitedTalk page 17:10, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
