This is the meta userpage of Sean Whitton (formerly Xyrael), Wikimedian. I'm pretty fanatical about free knowledge and freedom in general, so even though I'm not the best at getting stuff done for Wikimedia, I make up for it with boundless enthusiasm. I do quite a few things around the place and think that with everyone working together we can produce some wonderful things, and show the world that the wiki concept really does work. Mainly, I seem to be around to help others with their work, so do drop me a line if there is something I can assist you with.

My home project is the English Wikipedia where I am an admin and mediator emeriti. I'm also a sysop here on meta. My work is generally communication-related (various meanings of that term). I'm an OTRS agent, answering the English info and press queues. I'm generally to be found either beavering furiously away at some backlog, or flitting about trying to be useful answering OTRS tickets and such like. Recently I've started managing Foundation wiki accounts.
I do a good deal of work on IRC, serving as an group contact for Wikimedia. I'm a channel operator in #wikimedia, #wikipedia, #wikipedia-en and various other places I've lost track of, and I'm a freenode staffer so feel free to ask for help: my nickname is seanw.

I'm a sixth form student living in Sheffield, UK. I'm interested in a good few things: generally anything that requires thought and involves learning, particularly maths and philosophy. My hobbies include change ringing at Sheffield Cathedral, reading, computing, gaming (electronic and table-top roleplaying) and I am an (occasional) volunteer for Oxfam.
On the Internet I contribute to Wikimedia and freenode as I think both of these projects are constructive and wide-reaching. I'm pretty into IRC, and I can also be found on other websites around the place. Sometimes I am known as spwhitton, seanw, Xyrael, Zyrael, swhitton or simply my real name.
I am an atheist until it is proven otherwise (nothing is impossible). Politically, I am a fluffy, woolly lefty-liberal. I keep a website at seanwhitton.com
