This is the meta userpage of Sean Whitton (formerly Xyrael), Wikimedian. I strongly agree with the ideals of the projects, and wish to contribute to them as I believe that because I can, I should. It's enjoyable, too! I do quite a few things around the place and think that with everyone working together we can produce some wonderful things, and show the world that the wiki concept really does work. Mainly, I'm around to help others with their work, so do drop me a line if there is something I can assist you with.

My home project is the English Wikipedia where I am an admin and mediator emeriti. I'm also a sysop here on meta. My work is generally communication-related (various meanings of that term) and thus I am currently attempting to co-ordinate ComProj. I'm an OTRS agent, answering the English info and press queues, and I'm also a freelance editor and the technical contact for Wikizine.
I do a good deal of work on IRC, serving as an group contact for Wikimedia. I'm a channel operator in #wikimedia, #wikipedia, #wikipedia-en and various other places I've lost track of, and I'm a freenode staffer so feel free to ask for help: my nickname is seanw.

I'm a sixth form student in living in Sheffield, UK. I'm interested in a good few things, such as law, politics, philosophy, history and maths. My hobbies include change ringing at Sheffield Cathedral, reading, computing, gaming (electronic and table-top roleplaying) and I am a volunteer for Oxfam.
On the Internet I contribute to Wikimedia and freenode as I think both of these projects are really useful and constructive. I'm pretty into IRC, and I can also be found on other websites around the place. Sometimes I am known as spwhitton, Xyrael, Zyrael, swhitton or simply my real name.
I am an atheist until it is proven otherwise (nothing is impossible). Politically, I am a socialist and a liberal, and I'm pretty strong with both of these. I keep a website at seanwhitton.com
