2009

• March 13 - Private tour of Sydney's Powerhouse Museum for chapter members and other Wikimedians. See here.
• Jan 11 - Wikimedia Australia's first Annual General Meeting is held Australia-wide appointing the first official committee.

2008

• Nov 18 - The officialwiki is officially launched to members of Wikimedia Australia.
• November 12th - We are now open for membership! See /Membership for details on how to join.
• August 6th - received Certificate of Incorporation. We are now Wikimedia Australia Inc.
• July 31st - submitted documentation to Consumer Affairs Victoria - big thanks to Brian- next stop AGM!! :-)
• July 29th - ChapCom have approved the Statement of Purpose, so we're ready to go back to Consumer Affairs Victoria.
• July 6. The expanded Statement of Purpose has been considered by two meetings of the interim committee, and discussion on it is now open until 3.00 p.m. Sunday, July 13th when the committee is meeting again. If this is acceptable, we can then consult ChapCom and if all is well there, it can then be submitted to Consumer Affairs Victoria.
• May 1st: An expanded Statement of Purpose has been drafted, and is now open for comment.
• April 20th: We have held our Incorporation meeting! - around 20 Wikimedians from around Australia connected to the 'real world' Melbourne meeting through IRC, and a conference call, and the Chapter is officially on the road to incorporation!
• March 1: The Board has approved our existence!
• Brisbane bid for Wikimania 2009

• Join the Wikimedia Australia Facebook group!
• August 2007: Wikimedia Australia now has an OTRS queue, which can be reached through wm-au AT wikimedia DOT org. This is for press contacts.
• May 2007: Wikimedia is now a registered trademark in Australia.
• The Education Committee now has its own discussion page.
• Sign up for press and education committees.
• We now have a mailing list - visit mail.wikimedia.org.au to join
