Requests
This page lists status reports from across the Wikimedia projects. Started by elian in 2004 to gather reports from Wikipedia and sister Projects, it now also serves as a portal for reports from subprojects, chapters, and parts of the Foundation itself.
If you are active in a project, chapter, or initiative, please take the time to see if there's a recent report from your project, and add a few sentences about it or a link to the local project news pages if there is not. Thank you. :)
- You can write a report in whatever language you please, though a rough translation into English is recommended. If you don't know English well enough, please ask a translator.
- Please sign reports with a link to your user page on meta or a local project.
Suggestions about what to write:
- For a project - How many new articles were written? - Who and how many people became sysops? - Have there been important policy changes or polls? - What are the most pressing problems? - Are there important events/meetings/press coverage?
- For an event or meeting - What was covered? Was there an agenda? - Who attended? - What were the outcomes? - Are there plans for a followup?

[edit] The Gardner Report
These are public versions of reports from Executive Director Sue Gardner to the WMF Board of Trustees. Most were originally posted to the foundation-l mailing list.
You may know that I send regular reports to the Wikimedia board. Starting this month, I'm going to experiment with sending them here as well.
Why am I doing this? I generally want the work of the staff to be visible & transparent to anyone who's interested. I don't see a really compelling reason _not_ to send the reports to foundation-l, and I'm assuming people here will appreciate being kept in the loop.
[...] I'd like to try this out for a couple of months and see what happens. Let me know if you find it helpful :-) - Sue Gardner, January 31, 2008
