Highlights
[edit]Wiki Loves Monuments
[edit]The most famous international wiki challenge, this year Wiki Loves Monuments 2016 (supported by Amical Wikimedia in the Catalan Wikipedia), reported 1421 new photos, that is to say, illustrate more than 1000 items of monumental heritage of the Catalan-speaking territory! Governmental and cultural institutions also collaborated to distribute awards to the best thematic editions. And, what is more, participants also created and edited about a hundred articles about Balearic, Catalan, Valencian and Northern Catalan monuments in 6 different languages, representing an amount of close to a million bytes!
Wiki loves Wine

Last 17th September several wikimedians gathered at Castell del Remei's winery to spend a day devoted to Wikipedia, its sister projects, and wine. After a visit to the winery led by the company's head oenologist, the wikimedians were some of the first ever allowed to enter the castle (there's a castle in the heart of the property!) and start adding and improving contents about wine on Wikipedia, Wiktionary, and Wikimedia Commons while sitting in the castle's winter dining room. At dusk, we were invited to stroll around the property, visit its chapel and wrap up the day with a wine tasting.

Roald Dahl Challenge
[edit]In commemoration of the centenary of the birth of Roald Dahl, a weekly challenge was organised to promote the creation of new articles about him: Viquiprojecte Roald Dahl 100. Among all participants, 21 Wikipedia articles and 6 Wikiquote citation pages were created.
