On 26 October 2015 CIS-A2K conducted a training session at Christ University, Bangalore for the students of Department of tourism studies of the university. Mughdha Kulkarni, Assistant professor, Department of tourism studies, is a Wiki-enthusiast, and requested CIS-A2K to conduct Wikipedia (and related projects) training sessions for her department's students. It was a 2-hours' training. Rahmanuddin Shaik, Tanveer Hasan and Tito Dutta conducted the event behalf of CIS-A2K.

Activities[edit]

The following activities took place during the training session

  1. Introduction to Wikivoyage: Participants were introduced to Wikivoyage and the difference between Wikipedia, Wikisource and Wikivoyage projects was discussed;
  2. Article creation: Participants were asked to look at structure, section headings, and writing style of Chennai article, and then they were asked to create articles on their userspace. 14 articles were started this day. They were taught to use Wikivoyage templates such as See, Listing etc.
  3. Photo upload on Wikimedia Commoons: A few participants were interested to upload photos on Wikimedia Commons. They were taught how to upload photos on Wikimedia Commons.
