Community Wishlist Survey 2020/Archive/Enable move-subpages for all autoconfirmed Wikibooks users
Appearance
Enable move-subpages for all autoconfirmed Wikibooks users
Requires community consensus
- Problem: Consider the page Raku Programming on Wikibooks, for example. The page was moved from "Perl 6 Programming" by JoaquinFerrero. The same user then moved all of the subpages hours later. But it would be tedious to move all of a book's subpages manually.
- Who would benefit: Users moving books with subpages on Wikibooks.
- Proposed solution: Enable the
move-subpages
right for all autoconfirmed Wikibooks users. - More comments:

- Useful for Wikisource too. JAn Dudík (talk) 11:13, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
- This would just require the communities to agree on which group should have the right and then you make a request in phabricator to enact the change. If you think the change should be made across all language versions, maybe hold that debate on Meta. In any way, this does not require development effort as described in the premise of the community wishlist. It's a config change, no more. —TheDJ (talk • contribs) 13:08, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
- as TheDJ noted, but i am here just to for saying that it is good change. --Zache (talk) 11:43, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
- Echoing the above, this does not require engineering resources, so I am going to archive it as requiring community consensus. Please seek consensus, and request this configuration change on Phabricator, using the tag "Wikimedia-Site-requests". Thanks for participating in the survey!
