  • 1 July: The Challenge is of to a great start! 10 participants have joined already and 8 have registered their first points. Welcome to all of you! Please spread the word to your communities! So far images have been added to 14 language versions of Wikipedia: Basque, Bengali, Catalan, Czech, Danish, English, French, Galician, German, Italian, Japanese, Malayalam, Portuguese and Spanish. Also a handfull of articles worked on during the UNESCO Challenge have been improved, which is great, and a number of images have had information about what they depict added to them. • 2 July: Today we welcome User:Liridon to the Challenge! Adding Albanian as the 15th language that has had contributions so far. In total we now have 230 improvements listed by the participants. Please use the tool Pageview Analysis to find out about your points for adding the images. Simply pick the language version you worked on and add the article you would like to find the pageviews for. John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 20:01, 2 July 20* 6th: Uğurkent (2,436 points)

  • 4 July: Wow! A lot has happened since the last update. We see many images being added to very central geographical articles, which makes sence considering that World Heritage Sites are considered some of the culturally and/or historically most important places in a country. Furthermore, a full 194 images has been improved with what they are depicting. This is someting we think is really cool and will use as an example on how the community can improve the GLAMs data. Well done all of you! John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 22:17, 4 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • 9 July: Sorry for the delay in updating. We welcome User:hakan.akerblom to the Challenge så the 12th participant! During the last days we continue to see a lot of great contributions from the participants! The main focus so far seem to be the images of World Heritage sites. They are probably the easiests to get high points for as they often fit in the country articles. However, the other batch uploads have some really low hanging fruit if you are interested to add good new images to e.g. Wikidata or existing Wikipedia articles - as they have the place name in the title. Finally, to clarify about the points: only full points are awarded for an improvement. No decimals should be added. The amount of page views and improved image metadata already is impressive. Our GLAM partners will be thrilled! John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 05:02, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • 16 July: Just over half the time has now passed and we have more images being used and their metadata improved every day. Awesome! Most seem to be from the UNESCO upload, which lead us to w* 6th: Uğurkent (2,436 points)
  • 7th: Sukkoria (602 points)onder if we can make the other images easier to find and use somehow? Please tell us your suggestions on the talk page. I also want to point out the possibility to double your points by adding 3,000 bytes of information to the article that you've added the image(s) to. There is still plenty of time to change the positions in the Challenge! ☺ John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 12:39, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • 21 July: User:Elisardojm have today passed the incredible 100,000 points level! Wow! In total we now have 821 registered contributions. John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 20:56, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • 28 July: Welcome to our newest participants User:Uğurkent and User:White Demon! I think it is great to see that User:Jsamwrites is very close to a full 500 improvements (currently 489 registered contributions). Very impressive. It is also great fun for to see that there are a lot of improvements of the UNESCO Challenge articles. Thank you all for that. Three more days are remaining of the Challenge. We look forward to see what will happen now during the final time! John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 20:07, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • 30 July: User:Jsamwrites adds the 501st contribution! John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 11:09, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • 1 August: The COH Challenge has reached an end and we are at awe of the results. The coming weeks we will summarize the outcome more in detail and announce the winners.
We will highlight your achievements to our GLAM partners to show them the value of working with the Wikimedia community and encourage the release of more of their media files and data. You have made a real difference to those efforts. Thank you all! John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 11:09, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
