Rescuing library books with WikiSource, Part One

[edit]

Abstract/description

[edit]

A workshop on proofreading and validating in WikiSource using the English text of a Public Domain collection of Aboriginal folk tales. (English is chosen only because it is the lingua franca. But the techniques are applicable in any of the WikiSource language domains that have implemented the ProofreadPage module.) If there is time, there will also be a brief look at the basic principles of transclusion.

Relationship to ESEAP or to the theme

[edit]

Connected to the theme in that the venue sits upon the ancestral lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora nation and so by making these stories available to the world we act as the conduit between the past and the future.
