Education/About/Education Team/is
We believe Wikipedia and its sister projects belong in education. When students of all ages engage with Wikimedia projects as part of their learning, they gain significant 21st century skills . By fostering a relationship between Education and the Wikimedia movement, we have the best chance to realize our goal that the sum of all knowledge will be accessible to everyone in the world for free.
Meet the team
The Education Team at the Wikimedia Foundation supports the EduWiki network to empower people with the skills and knowledge to contribute to free knowledge, engaging the global education sector in the Wikimedia Movement. Priyal Gala and Meng Zhou
On Wednesday Feb 12, 2020, Priyal Gala and Meng Zhou from the George Washington University International Education Program shared the amazing work they've been doing over the last 16 weeks conducting background research on the education systems of the three countries partnering with the Education Team on the Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom project: the Philippines, Morocco, and Bolivia. Their research is helping us to understand how this project can work within the existing systems, and improve outcomes for teachers, students, and the Wikimedia movement.
