Summary: The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture celebrated National Literature Month with a festival that included events on Bikol Wikipedia. This is part of their Wiki Education program which encourages students and faculty to contribute to Wikipedia. Over 200 people have participated since October 2023. A competition was held for writing and translating Wikipedia articles in Bikol. The winners were Delimaangelo19 and Shiela Maulion.

In celebration of the National Literature Month, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture - College of Education organized the Literary Festival 2024: Festival of Ideas featuring ten events including article writing and translation on Bikol Wikipedia.

The activity is part of the pilot CBSUA Wiki Education program which envisions a university where faculty, non-teaching personnel, and students actively share knowledge with the general public by integrating Wikimedia into their instruction, research, extension, and production services.

More than 200 students and faculty members have signed up on Wikipedia and have started adding contents on various topics since October 2023, see CBSUA Wiki Education dashboard. Under the direction of associate professor Jerome Hipolito, the CBSUA Wiki Club serves as an extra-curricular organization for new contributors in the university. It aims to attract and develop new volunteers and editors, and to produce new or revised content through edit-a-thons.

The elimination round for the Wikipedia events in Pagsaysay or article writing and Pagdakitaramon or translation was a take-home activity wherein participants must submit their entries within a 12-hour period. The events Isturyang Suanoy, Padurunungan, Surat Pagkamuot, Talastaramon, Pagsayod nin Soneto, Pagsayod nin Soliloquy, Sabayan na Pagsayod, and the Pagkurit nin Rawit were conducted on April 15-16, 2024 in various venues.

Out of 10 entries, Delimaangelo19 won the 1st place in article writing for his entry San Antonio (Quipayo). For the translation category, Shiela Maulion's Malabungot was declared 1st place out of 14 contenders.

Bikol Wikipedia admin Irvin Sto. Tomas served as the final jury in the contests. The Bikol Wikipedia Community and Philippine Wikimedia Community User Group signed an activity agreement with the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture-Calabanga in support of their activities in 2023.

This year's LitFest is a collaboration of CBSUA Teacher-Education Students' Society, The Writers Project, Pintados, CBSUA Debate Society, and is under the CBSUA Wiki Education program.
