Wikimedia Chile launched a teacher guidebook with Wiki tools for Heritage Education
Considering the importance of promoting the knowledge and protection of Heritage through education, the Wikimedia Chile Education and Digital Literacy Program launched the “Wiki tools for Heritage Education”, a digital dossier to educate and train educational communities on the recognition, research, and communication of local heritage using Wikimedia projects.
With examples and experiences developed by Wikimedia Chile, teachers and students can learn about the Wikimedia Universe and find strategies to use Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons to investigate and communicate their local culture. In addition, the guidebook incorporates 11 pedagogical activities to apply their learnings, improving aptitudes and skills such as curiosity, investigation, creativity, participation, and collaboration.
All the photos and images that are included in this resource are a result of Wikimedia Chile's initiatives to promote the appreciation of all the local cultures of different territories of the country. In this sense, the dossier is also an opportunity to ensure open access to cultural and natural heritage.
