On October 6, the 2nd Latin American Regional Education Meeting was held virtually with educators from different Latin American countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru).

In this meeting we were able to learn about the projects that have been developed in the second half of the year from the education areas of Wikimedia Argentina (WMAR), Wikimedia Chile (WMCL) and Wikimedia México (WMMX).

The first project that was presented was in charge of the companions of the Education and Human Rights Program of Wikimedia Argentina. They shared the book Wikipedia, education and human rights. Research to think about the uses of Wikimedia projects in the classroom. A project that compiles articles with educational experiences from different educational levels in Argentina. This project encompasses literacy, access to content with little or low connectivity, gender gaps and human rights, and access to information from Wikimedia projects.

Secondly, the Education and Literacy Program in charge of Wikimedia Chile was present with the Training Cycle for teachers: How to teach local heritage using Wiki tools?. The objectives involved knowing the educational experiences in relation to heritage in the region, training from the use of Wikimedia projects, and sharing heritage education proposals through 6 training sessions and practical workshops.

Finally, the Education Program of Wikimedia Mexico shared the previous preparation of a book, where the exchange of educational experiences, the inclusion of students in their educational processes and the staging of the struggle to bet on free knowledge inside and outside the community are rescued.

Thanks to all the people who came together to share and continue building hand in hand.
