From April 2015 to August 2016, the National Archives gave 446 documents to Commons, usually of hight value regarding the history of France. Among the several themes of the uploads, one was World War I.

Bibliothèque Nationale de France

In 2010, one of the first GLAM partnership of Wikimédia France was with the National Library. More than a thousand books were uploaded to Commons and transcripted to Wikisource, including several from the 1914-1918 period.

Toulouse municipal archives

In November 2014 Toulouse municipal archives gave to Commons thousands of images of World War I rear front : the Fonds Berthelé. It shows destructions of cities and villages in France, war prisoners, wounded soldiers, as well as day to day life. A workshop took place in the archives with the goal to illustrate Wikipedia articles with the images of the collection.

Rennes municipal archives

In 1913 hold a workshop about the history of Brittany ; the Rennes municipal archives gave several documents to Commons, including a 1914 map of Rennes.

Photographers

Wikimedia France has an on-going program of empowering photographers by giving hight-quality material, formations and accreditations. This lead to several pictures related to the period
