A scholarship is a grant given to an individual to enable them to attend Wikicon Australia 2024 in person. Scholarships are available for Wikimedians within Australia.

Scholarships will be capped at a maximum of AU$600, with accommodation arranged and paid for separately by Wikimedia Australia. Those wishing to travel to Adelaide from other countries, should apply to the Wikimedia Foundation or their own Wikimedia chapter for travel funding.

Applications for scholarships are open from 30 June 2024 to 31 August 2024. Please post a message on the help page if you have any questions.

  • Will you still come if you receive a partial scholarship or no scholarship at all?
  • What are you able to contribute?
  • What outcomes are you looking for?
  • What sessions have you proposed?
  • How will your contributions improve Australian First Nations contributions, and content?
  • How will your contributions improve Australian content?
  • Are you from an under represented group?
  • Are you from regional or rural Australia?
  • Are you a new editor?

Timeline[edit]

  • 30 June 2024: Opening of Scholarship Application
  • 31 July 2024: Closure of Scholarship Application
  • 1 - 23 August 2024: Review of applications
  • 24 August - 7 September 2024: Scholarship recipients are informed of the funding they will receive

Unsuccessful applicants will receive notification in September, 2024.
