Description[edit]

Wikivibrance is a collaborative project initiated by Wikimedia Rwanda aimed at fostering knowledge creation and dissemination among students in the Rwamagana district of Rwanda. The project will be implemented in two schools, namely GS Gishari and GS St Robert Ruhunda, where students actively participate in wiki clubs.

Implementation Team[edit]

Objectives[edit]

The primary objectives of this project are:

  • To empower students to actively contribute to the Kinyarwanda Wikipedia.
  • To create content about sectors located in Rwanda and districts lacking information on the Kinyarwanda Wikipedia.
  • To enhance digital literacy and research skills among students.
  • To foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing among students.

Proposed Activities[edit]

  • Launching Wiki Clubs: The project will kick off with the establishment of wiki clubs in GS Gishari and GS Ruhunda.
  • Training Workshops: Students will receive training workshops on Wikipedia editing, content creation, and research skills.
  • Writing Contest: A two-week writing contest will be organized, during which students will create and publish content about sectors located in Rwanda and districts lacking information on the Kinyarwanda Wikipedia.
  • Peer Review: Students will engage in peer review sessions to provide feedback on each other's contributions and improve the quality of content.
  • Content Publication: The created content will be published on the Kinyarwanda Wikipedia platform to make it accessible to a wider audience.
