Empowers diverse leaders for more equitable knowledge. DEI: Training must be intersectional, addressing challenges faced by women of colour, LGBTQI+ women, etc.

Epic User Story / Goal Strategic Justification & DEI Consideration
Content Projects As someone interested in African culture, I want a photography contest to celebrate Afro-Brazilian heritage. Justification: This training elevates content from simple documentation to impactful, ethically-aware narratives (Rec #6 & #9). DEI: The curriculum for "Decolonial Studies" will be co-developed with community members.
Governance & Strategy As a funder, I want a clear mid-term report to evaluate the grant's progress. Justification: A critical accountability checkpoint that maintains funder confidence and demonstrates our commitment to transparency (Rec #1). DEI: The report must include specific metrics on our DEI goals.
DEI As a person with an intellectual disability, I want the community to better understand our realities. Justification: Targeted activities to equip our community with skills to handle sensitive topics inclusively, creating a safe environment (Rec #3).

Q3 2026: "Grant Submission & Strategic Fieldwork"

Epic User Story / Goal Strategic Justification & DEI Consideration
Content Projects As a biodiversity researcher, I want access to a new image collection from a conservation area. Justification: A strategic intervention to create a deep, high-quality dataset in an under-documented area (Rec #8). DEI: The location should be chosen for its relevance to local or traditional communities.
Capacity Building As a new contributor, I want to understand how to use licences and edit in an advanced way. Justification: Essential for the health and sustainability of our community (Rec #1 & #6), ensuring contributions are legally sound and technically proficient. DEI: Workshops will be reviewed for accessibility.
Governance & Strategy As the foto.wiki.br team, we want to submit a high-quality grant proposal for future funding. Justification: Core activity to ensure financial sustainability (Rec #1). A data-driven proposal is essential for securing resources.
DEI As a neurodivergent person, I want the community to learn about our ways of communicating. Justification: The neurodiversity workshop addresses a key aspect of an inclusive environment (Rec #3). The local histories course contributes to knowledge equity (Rec #8).

Q4 2026: "Thematic Engagement & Final Reporting"

Epic User Story / Goal Strategic Justification & DEI Consideration
Content Projects As a birdwatcher, I want to participate in a photography contest to share my records. Justification: A proven, high-engagement model for content generation targeting a passionate community (Rec #8 & #1). DEI: Outreach will make a specific effort to engage with clubs in less-represented regions of Brazil.
Capacity Building As an educational photographer, I want to learn new techniques for teaching. Justification: These workshops provide essential skills that empower our community to create better content (Rec #6). DEI: The course will include a module on the importance of traditional and indigenous knowledge.
Governance & Strategy As the foto.wiki.br team, we want to deliver our final reports and plan for the next year. Justification: Fundamental to our commitment to accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement (Rec #1 & #10).

7. Framework for Monitoring, Risk, and Conclusion

  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Our commitment to accountability is operationalised through our data-driven culture. We will track success through a combination of quantitative KPIs and qualitative analysis. Quarterly reviews will assess performance against the roadmap's goals.
  • Risk Analysis and Mitigation: Our primary risks are financial (funding dependency), operational (volunteer burnout), and reputational (ethical missteps). Mitigation strategies include diversifying funding and applying lean management principles.
  • Conclusion: The 2026 Plan is ambitious yet achievable. By leveraging our specialised expertise and our agile, data-driven model, we are uniquely positioned to fill critical knowledge gaps, empower a diverse community, and drive innovation.
