Encourage female users
As a recently retired female History professor, I am aware that women are still in the minority in the profession. However, women now outnumber men as students. They use Wikipedia all the time. Some kind of eye-catching banner might encourage them. "Have you learned something worth sharing?"

Project idea[edit]

What is the problem you're trying to solve?[edit]

Encourage users to share their knowledge. As a woman I really dislike gender specific encouragement. It gives the sense that we are second class. yet we are the majority enrolled in colleges and universities

What is your solution?[edit]

Encourage student readers to contribute; if they do it will automatically increase the number of women who submit.

Goals[edit]

Endorsements[edit]

  • Generally we should do more internal advertising. There is now a generation of younger people who missed the huge burst of media coverage starting about 10 years ago, and despite the small print info on every page don't actually realize they can edit. Johnbod (talk) 16:41, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
