Project idea[edit]

WikiData is growing quickly but there are millions of entries which still need to be added, desciptions that are lacking, and categories that haven't been created yet. The WikiData Game would lead new contributors through the process of learning and then executing on the basic skills of WikiData in a way which tracked their contributions, ranked their improvement, set skill acquisition pathways and achievement milestones, and created a thematic journeys for improving the project.

Project goals[edit]

The goal of the project is to use game dynamics and engagement principles to motivate increased understanding of WikiData and increased contributions to WikiData, especially from an audience less familiar with WikiData, Wikimedia, and/or computing.
