Project Goal[edit]

What will be the outputs of your project and how will those outputs contribute to advancing a specific Movement Strategy Initiative

The UCoC aims to provide a universal baseline of acceptable behavior for the entire Wikimedia movement and all its projects. The UCoC is designed to ensure safety and inclusion within the Wikimedia community. The UCOC Translation Project aims to make the Universal Code of Conduct (UCOC) accessible to a global audience by translating it into Igbo language. This initiative aligns with Wikimedia's commitment to inclusivity and community engagement. Translating the UCOC into Igbo languages will enhance accessibility. It will Foster a more diverse and inclusive Wikimedia community. Improve understanding and adherence to the UCOC guidelines globally. Translating the UCOC is vital for fostering inclusivity, ensuring that contributors from diverse linguistic backgrounds can fully comprehend and adhere to Wikimedia's community guidelines.

To Foster a more diverse and inclusive Wikimedia community. Improve understanding and adherence to the UCOC guidelines globally. Translating the UCOC is vital for fostering inclusivity, ensuring that contributors from diverse linguistic backgrounds can fully comprehend and adhere to Wikimedia's community guidelines. We want takee this opportunity to community members on the UCOC.

Phase 1 :Volunteer recruitment and training. Phase 2: Translation of UCOC documents. Phase 3: Review and feedback collection. Phase 4 : Finalization of translated UCOC

Yes, the UCOC pages have not been fully translated to Igbo language.


After your activities are complete, we would like to understand the draft implementation plan for your community. You will be required to prepare a document detailing this plan around a movement strategy initiative. This report can be prepared through Meta-wiki using the Share your results button on this page. The report can be prepared in your language, and is not required to be written in English.

In this report, you will be asked to:

  • Describe what activities supported the development of the plan
  • Describe how and where you have communicated your plan to relevant communities.
