Learning

[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

1. We were able to achieve our goal of training newbies and returning editors on the principles of Wikipedia, the rules that govern proper edits, and pointers to ensure they have the enthusiasm to participate in projects while being cautious about the kind of contributions they make.

2. Even after it was postponed once, participants' anticipation for the event remained high.

3. We were able to recruit new editors to the Wikimedia projects.

  • What did not work so well?

Some of the recruits were unable to create accounts due to IP block

  • What would you do differently next time?

I would make a request to be on the IP Block Exemption list, so as to avoid such occurrence.
