Learning[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?
  1. Having series of events for each project reinforced the understanding of participants.
  2. Providing internet subscriptions to participants on event days and post event days helped participants to actively contribute to the projects.
  • What did not work so well?
  1. Not making provision for child care in the budget affected having a very low representative of women in the events as most women that attended some of the events were nursing mothers.
  2. Gungbe is spoken in Republic of Benin. Based on the online awareness created for the event, these people wanted to participate but it was very difficult to carry them along even on the google meet organized for participants engagement.
  • What would you do differently next time?
  1. I will make allowance for child care in the budget next time.
  2. I plan to carry out series of event for participants from Benin Republic or encourage other experienced editor to hold similar event in Benin. Some of these interested participants are already being engaged onm the WhatsApp group created for them.
