Goals[edit]

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went? I’m very happy about the turnout of my project. I was short of required number of participants by 3 but the outcome from the event was exciting. My program story can be found here: Program story And photos can be found here: Event photos

Outcome[edit]

Please report on your original project targets.

We had two events over 3 months with a WhatsApp group for follow ups focused on adding more content into the Igbo Language Wikipedia platform and increasing the number of articles on Igbo Cultural heritage and also making corrections on existing articles.

Learning[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

Learning how to create quotes on Wikiquote was challenging at first before I could even teach others. At the end, it was worth learning, teaching others and having to adopt Igbo Wikiquote as part of our projects. The branded souvenirs also made a difference for the participants as everyone wanted to contribute in order to get a branded souvenir.

  • What did not work so well?

Because it was a Nigeria event, some of the participants who do not speak Igbo worked on the English Wikiquote as the Yoruba Wikiquote doesn’t exist anymore. Up to 10 of these quotes were nominated for deletion.

  • What would you do differently next time?

Next time, I would write the English Wikiquote community to inform them about prospective edits from new editors.

The funds remaining from this grant in the amount of 85,564.6 NGN (or equivalent to US$186 calculated by oanda.com on 3 Feb 2023) were deducted from another grant payment for Grants:Programs/Wikimedia_Community_Fund/Rapid_Fund/Wiki_Loves_Africa_2023_with_Campus_Photo_Fest_Nigeria_(ID:_22027086).

$186 If it's ok, I would like to allocate it to the next #SheSaid Campaign in 2022

Anything else[edit]

Anything else you want to share about your project? The #SheSaid campaign was really beneficial to my community. We’ve been able to add one more project to our portfolio.
