Goals

[edit]

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

Some goals were met, some not, but we are happy with the overall activities and programs organized and the foundation built for future work and improvement.

Outcome

[edit]

Please report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants.

Target outcome Achieved outcome Explanation
Number of total participants: 60 71 total participants Over 100 people showed interest to participate via the registration forms provided.
Number of events organized: 2 Two-day event Preliminary event and main Workshop phases were organized
20 people sign up for Wikimedia developer account Achieved More than 22 people created new developer accounts during the workshop phase
Sustain 5 active developers afterwards Not achieved. Currently not achived. But we hope ro sustain the momentum created with follow-up and other means of continuning the project.
Photos uploaded to Commons Over 100 photos were uploaded to Commons Photos for participants that consented to have their pictures taken and several graphics and media work are uploaded.
Fix some bugs Not achieved. This goal was not achieved as a lot of people find it difficult to get fully working setup during the events.

Learning

[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

What worked well?
  • Participation was great, there were more people than we could properly cater for. There was great interest in the program.
What did not work so well?
  • Some unfortunate issues (beyond control of the organisers) caused the name tags ordered to not be available during the event. They were delivered afterwards which made it not possible to actually use them.
  • We got a lot of people with little or no technical background which generally slowed down the pace of the workshop phase and overall value-adding to the program.
What would you do differently next time?
  • We would do more checks about reliabity of vendor for any ordered services/goods and ensure they're ready at least several days before they're actually needed. Avoid very late collection to avoid any unfortunate eventualities.
