Goals

[edit]

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went? Yes. Our goals were achieved and exceeded our expectations. We are glad with the outcome.

Outcome

[edit]

Please report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants.

Target outcome Achieved outcome Explanation
Number of events 3 3 we had 3 different events.
15 15 Due to the number of participants that indicated interest in joining the physical event we had to readjust the planning to accommodate them. The solution we came up with was dividing them to attend one of the 3 events. For the first and second it was made up 15 participants each who were limited to attending only one of the two while the third event was a combination of both that participated in the first two plus new participants.
New editors 10 30 As being the first of its kind, the number of new editors to Wikiquote made up the bulk of those who participated in the contest
Number of articles created 60 135 [1] We were able to exceed our target of 60 by more than doubling on the target we had initially set.
Number of events 3 3 We had 3 different events.

Learning

[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

we were able to introduce Wikiquote to new editors. A lot of editors really showed enthusiasm towards the project. We were able to get every editor to atleast contribute. We were able to bridge the gender gap on the English Wikiquote.

  • What did not work so well?

Like earlier stated due to the level of enthusiasm, we got a lot of editors but we could not take them all due to the Covid protocols.

  • What would you do differently next time?

If there would be a next time, I would make it a virtual event or hybrid. This is so that more editors can participate as some could not due to the geographical barrier.
