Learning[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

Engaging participants, including new ones, worked well. Creating & improving articles, as well as uploading & using photos went even better, as the "Month of the Belarusian literature" was the most productive writing contest in the history of the Belarusian Classical Wikipedia, organized locally, & the 5th most productive among all 35 of those, organized since 2010.

  • What did not work so well?

Promoting in the local news outlets before the "Wikipedia 20" celebration did not work so well.

  • What would you do differently next time?

I would start promoting the event later in the local news outlets through social networks.

Remaining funds have been used or will be used for other approved mission-aligned activities. This use has been requested in writing and approved by WMF.

I have the remaining grant funds for a possible income tax. The tax rate is 13 %. The non-salary tax is collected on a yearly basis & is due in spring, 2021. If those funds won't be taxed, I would like to use them as the 2nd & 3rd place awards for creating articles about protected areas of Belarus during the "Wiki Loves Earth 2021".
