Project idea[edit]

What is the problem you're trying to solve?[edit]

'Malayalam is the official language of the province of Kerala in Southern India with nearly 30 million speakers. Kerala has a history for two thousand years and its language Malayalam has a literary history of nearly 1000 years. Malayalam Wiki is widely using in Kerala as a basic reference material in the state schools by the teachers and students for all subjects. Wikipedia is already a part of the school curriculum and learning through wikipedia is encouraged by the government through the projects IT@School and school wiki. Although the Malayalam Wiki has 43,000+ articles, most of the articles are inadequate for reference purposes. The pages about the History, Culture and Literature of Kerala is not much informative or much lower in quality to a common learner. In the indian context most of the relevant reference materials were stored in the libraries as printed books. At the same time the ratio of digital penetration is very much higher in Kerala comparing other places. We need continuous efforts and effective support to the community to link the printed knowledge into the digital space.

What is your solution?[edit]
